How do I relate design, be it tasks, materials, visual structure etc., to the wider notion of education design. I believe it is the construct that design is a resource for learning rather than determining the outcome of learning which is unpreditable as learners construct their own knowledge based on the resources available.

Even, learning communities or groups are mere resources for achieving learning goals? Has it come to the point that everything is a means or resource which will be actively manipulated by the learner to construct meaning and learn?

Very interesting indeed because this reminds me of Kress' social semiotic viewpoint on learning! (in Multimodal Teaching and Learning)
